Warm welcome for Chow and Pulau Tikus newcomer Joshua Woo

MARKET-GOERS and hawkers at the Pulau Tikus Market warmly welcomed caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Pulau Tikus candidate Joshua Woo and their team with enthusiasm during their visit this morning.

Chow, who is also the state Pakatan Harapan chairman, expressed his appreciation for the excellent performance of former Pakatan Harapan representatives in their respective areas.

“We are thankful that the former Pakatan Harapan representatives were recognised for their hard work and dedication, which resulted in few complaints about their performances.

“In Pulau Tikus, the only pressing concern raised is the issue of traffic management and inadequate parking spaces, a common problem all over Penang during peak hours.

“Our challenge is to manage the traffic during peak hours,” Chow said during the walkabout at the Pulau Tikus Market.

Chow also welcomed Woo’s vision for the Pulau Tikus constituency.

“Although Woo is a newcomer, he has vast experience, especially in sustainable development.

“Apart from taking care of the needs of the Pulau Tikus constituency, I believe he is able to convey information on the development projects proposed by the state government, such as the Penang South Island (PSI) and Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) to the public.

“This is his expertise as he holds a Master’s degree in sustainability development.

“Previously, he played the role in answering questions from the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) pertaining to the projects proposed by the state government,” Chow added.

Chow also hoped that the voters would support Woo and other Unity candidates in the upcoming state election.

“I believe that Woo will look into the matters brought up by the residents if he is elected as the Pulau Tikus assemblyman,” Chow said.

Woo said that he is committed to continuing the good work done by former Pulau Tikus assemblymen Chris Lee and Yap Soo Huey.
