PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow will wait for Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng’s reply with regard to the call for a debate by MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
It was reported that Wee had challenged Lim to debate the Penang undersea tunnel project.
Wee said that Lim had previously rejected the challenge because he (Wee) was not the party president at that time.
It was reported that Wee did not mind debating Chow if Lim declines the challenge.
“Wee should answer how he got the RM20 billion figure. If he can answer, maybe we can consider,” Chow answered a journalist today.
Chow had earlier said that the construction cost for the three major roads and an undersea tunnel has always been RM6.341 billion.
Wee was reportedly asking: “Does the actual cost of the tunnel for the people really exceed RM20bil as I calculated last year?”
