THE Majlis Pusat Kebajikan Semalaysia (MPKSM) (Penang branch) has once again stepped forward to contribute three oxygen concentrators to the Kepala Batas Hospital today.

Previously, the welfare association had sponsored three oxygen concentrators to the same hospital last week.

Its deputy chairman cum chief executive officer Datuk Tan Yong Seng said the fund was raised among the association members to buy all six units that are worth close to RM10,000.

“A few days ago, we also have donated 80 single-decker beds, including mattresses, pillows and blankets, to the Caring Society Complex which has been turned into a Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre (PKRC). The items cost about RM20,000.

“We hope with such contribution, it will be able to reduce the burden on our frontliners,” Tan said during a simple ceremony at Komtar today.

The Kepala Batas Hospital was represented by its deputy director (clinical) Dr Hor Chee Peng.

Phee (centre) thanked the welfare organisation for much needed assistance during these trying times.

State Welfare and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh, who witnessed the presentation ceremony, thanked the welfare organisation for much needed assistance during these trying times.

“Hopefully, more organisations will come forward and do the same to support our healthcare system in the state,” Phee added.

Meanwhile, Dr Hor thanked MPKSM Penang branch for their prompt help.

“On behalf of the hospital, I would like to thank the organisation for the continuous help rendered to us that will be beneficial to treat Covid-19 patients,” he said.

Goh (black shirt) handover the equipment to the representative of state Health Department.

At the same occasion, a good Samaritan, Goh Shin Nee also stepped forward and donated three oxygen concentrators, two units of microwave and two units of fridge to the Penang Health Department.
