SIX primary and secondary schools in Penang received a 55-inch smart TV each from the International WeLoveU Foundation, a global welfare organisation dedicated to providing educational support across various fields.
Micheal Tan, the George Town branch manager of the International WeLoveU Foundation, expressed hope that this contribution would enhance the education quality for students at these schools.
“Children are the future leaders, and we hope our contribution will allow them to access information and spark their interest in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) education.
“Our members helped instal the smart TVs at the respective schools on July 3. The TVs were installed in six schools – SK Seri Tasek, SK Sungai Duri, SK Sungai Kechil, SMK Tasek, SMK Taman Widuri, and SK Bakap Indah,” he said.
Tan also detailed the broader mission of the International WeLoveU Foundation, noting that the organisation is associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC).
“It engages in a diverse range of welfare activities, including environmental conservation, disaster relief, poverty and hunger alleviation, provision of access to water and sanitation, health and wellness, educational support, and social welfare.
“WeLoveU also actively contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of common goals established by the international community,” he added.
