NextGen, a sub-committee of WomenBizSENSE, received a grant of US$2,500 (RM11,818) from the MDRT Foundation recently.
This grant is timely to support NextGen in hosting a Kidpreneurs Bazaar at Wisma AIA, Level 11, Straits Quay tomorrow from 2pm to 6pm. Penang Women’s Development Corporation chief executive officer Datuk Ong Bee Leng will officiate the event
WomenBizSENSE secretary Mily Goh said NextGen, led by Chen Li Li, Hayzel Cheah and Sylvia Ang, aims to provide children aged 7-12 with a transformative learning experience.
“By combining interactive sessions, exposure to various fields, and nurturing interpersonal skills, NextGen aims to empower young minds.
“Through group work, children learn to express themselves, share ideas and work harmoniously. The trainers are real-life women entrepreneurs with a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion.
“This year, the team will introduce more captivating activities to promote active learning, fostering critical thinking and soft skills, which lay the foundation for the success of future endeavours,” Goh said.
The event will feature free postural and optic screenings, engaging talks such as “The Growth Mindset Advantage” and “Girl To Woman: Love Your Body & Style,” and a fascinating showcase of Madagascar Cockroaches.
In 2023, some of the events conducted were FINTEGRITY financial literacy game, intellectual Weiqi, public speaking workshop, vocal training, terrarium planting, car boot sale for pre-loved items, and a hydroponic farm tour.
Goh expressed her gratitude to Lim Jin Kuang of JK Advisory, an agency from AIA Berhad, for recommending NextGen to receive the grant.
The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation supports charitable organisations worldwide, demonstrating the generosity, service, and impact of MDRT members.
This year, the MDRT Foundation will award over US$1.8 million in MDRT member-endorsed grants to over 350 charitable organisations worldwide.
