Work in harmony and stay productive, says CM Chow

PENANG must remain competitive and highly productive, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.

 

Chow, at the Vasakhi Festival 2019 in Fort Cornwallis today, said the state had always been supportive of the efforts by various organisations to foster unity.

“We need a society that accepts one another, able to work in harmony and remain productive and competitive.

 

“Divisiveness will only tear the social fabric apart,” he said in his speech.

Chow said cultural events such as the Vasakhi festival opened doors for the people to learn more about the cultural practices and traditions.

 

He also commended the Sikh community for their contribution towards political, social and economic development of the country.

Also present were state Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo and Wadda Gurdwara Sahib Penang president Daljit Singh.
